Required Skill and Fitness Level

Skill: You are a good skier, your stem turns are reliable in any snow conditions up to slopes of 35 degrees. You don’t mind switchbacks in exposed terrain.

Fitness: 3- to 5-hour climbs per day plus 1- to 2-hour ski runs.

Tour Description

If there is a place where everything is perfect for perfect ski touring days, then Praxmar. It’s a small settlement in the Lüsenser Valley, which deserves this title. Located on a sunny slope in the northern Stubai Alps, we can start many tours directly from our accommodation without additional access. These asset are worth spending a few days there. Spending our nights in a family-run, traditional inn with spa we enjoy also excellent food.
We start Sunday evening to enjoy the vastness and tranquility of these beautiful mountains away from the weekend.

Day 1

If possible, we arrange the journey to Praxmar in the form of carpooling, or public. We meet at 6 pm.

Day 2

Our first peak is the Lampsenspitze (2875 m, 4 hours). Its extensive terrain allows us to choose the most beautiful routes for the descent.

1200 m

4-5 hours

Day 3

It is said to be a 3000-meter peak today: with its 3005 meters, the Zischgeles towers above this "magical border". We climb the summit on the last few meters on foot (4-5 hours). Also this much visited ski mountain offers on its huge slopes numerous, lonely departure variants.

5-6 hours

Day 4

Cozy should be the 3rd day of the tour. The lonely neighbor of the Lampsenspitze, the Grieskogel (2710 m) will be our summit destination today (3-4 hours).

4-5 hours

Day 5

Once again we dare the step over the 3000er border: the Schöntalspitze (3008 m, 4-5 hours) is the successful conclusion of our tour days. After that we will start the journey home.
