Ortles Hintergrat, Aug. 25
The Hintergrat is a beautiful route up the Ortler: a sophisticated route leads over rocky outcrops and snowy ridges to its highest point. The climb is never particularly difficult, but the crux of the climb, a smooth 3-meter wall rated IV-, requires some upper arm strength. But don’t worry, the section is secured with a chain, and if necessary, the mountain guide’s powerful pull will help. On the rest of the ridge—the pictures speak for themselves—you can enjoy the climb, surrounded by a breathtaking panorama.
