The first Haute Route of the year starts exactly on the day the time changes to daylight saving time. Accordingly, a bit of “spring fatigue” is starting to set in. But the wonderful weather and almost perfect conditions spur us on. Only the key passage over the Plateau de Couloir and the Chanrion Hut, due to a brief change in the weather, requires us to bypass the easier Verbier route. Finally, after countless turns in the powder snow, we arrive in Zermatt in glorious sunshine.<\/p>\n
