Required Skill and Fitness Level

Skill: Your stem turns should be reliable beyond groomed ski pistes.

Fitness: 2 to 3-hour climbs per day plus 1 to 2-hour ski runs.

Tour Description

Learn to plan ski tours and to do them independently. With a balanced middle course of guiding and training, this ski tour course prepares you well for this. Thanks to many years of experience, the mountain guides of the Firngrat team will accompany you safely into the open ski area.

Services included: 3 days of training and guiding by a state approved mountain guide, guide’s expenses.
Services excluded: accommodations in the training area (2 nights, ich necessary), food and transfers.

1. Tag

At 9 o'clock meeting point at the valley station of the Hochalmlifte Christlum in Achenkirch or the Rofanseilbahn in Maurach am Achensee. With their support, we get to the high starting points to collect first ski touring experiences. Before, we will "warm up" on the piste.

2. Tag

Once again we use one of the many lifts in the area to get to a tour starting point: The lifts on the Achensee, in Alpbach or in the Zillertal take us up to our starting altitude, from where we climb one of the countless ski mountains; just so that we have enough power to practice our newly learned skills.

3. Tag

We will design the last day of the skitouring course individually and without skilifts. Depending on the wishes of the participants, condition and skill, snow and weather conditions, a tour is planned and carried out under the guidance of the mountain guide.
